Laugh with the QSM Magazine – The Second Issue is now on Stands!

This morning I packed Anandhotep’s bags and dropped him off at the airport. The guy was driving me nuts. The moment I’d finish my day’s work, he’d pounce upon me, pry open my mouth, jump into my throat, and inhabit my body with his soul. Then he’d force me to switch my computer on again, and drive me to work on the next issue of the QSM Magazine. Today, after three weeks of hard work, the second issue (Issue #1) of the QSM Magazine has now been published.

The QSM Magazine - The Indian Magazine of International Humor - Desi and American humour magazines

Read it Online here.
The Subscribers have already received the PDF of the new issue in their inboxes.)

Among other humor-stories, this issue brings you:

  • Mrs. Chaddha Elopes with Wifey’s Favorite! (She breaks wifey’s trust; steals her sleep; and snores away.)
  • If Hillary were an Indian Politician…(ever seen Hillary Clinton in a saree or wondered how she’d campaign in India?)
  • Mr. Trump vs. Lalu Ji (Donald Trump finds his match in an Indian politician – Shri Lalu Yadav ji of Patna, Bihar.)
  • What the Customer Wanted and What the Customer Got! (Exceeding customer’s expectations – The Dough-kneading Project.)
  • Ten Things I wish I were – and why?  (A car, a mirror, a computer…because inanimate objects see more than we do.)
  • Why India and Pakistan both love Justin Trudeau? (And check out his portrait too!)
  • Nukkadwala IIT (Yes, you read it right!)

But of course, the fun doesn’t end there. It’s got a couple of fabulous humor stories from two other writers – Ms. Oneta Hayes and Ms. Kyly Sheldon. I understand that forty pages of only my brand of malarkey can jade your senses – so I had to find writers who could make even a humorist laugh. (I assure you that it isn’t easy to have me grinning ear-to-ear!)

And then there are caricatures and cartoons (and a portrait too,) but there are photographs too – and a few from the streets of Delhi and Noida.

Am I missing something? (When you have been possessed by Anandhotep’s spirit for twenty-one days, your mind sort of stops working properly.)

Ah, yes. I remember now. There’s a section where you can heckle me as much as you want, you can side with wifey or with mom, you can smirk and take a swipe at me, or you can simply talk about the QSM magazine. Thanks, ShilpaVijayaShailajaCathyJacqueline, and Neerja.

Thank you, dear friends. You are the reason I write. Always be there for me, lighting my path with your dazzling smiles.

  7. Oh my ,my its just a plate, not the maid. I stretched my imagination too far. 🙂 Nice magazine design.

  8. Vamagandhi says:

Loved it. Simply. Though I have this knack of analysing things, so let me blurt it out.

“For online read, mag is little bulkier. Perfect as a magazine with awesome graphics, design, a college-mag lite-humor look. One would love to pick from shelves. A bit Punjabi flavour restricts all stories to north-indian audience but you covered up well with Trump-Lalu and Hillary rants. Tredeau one is again with some similar flavour. Humor is top class especially in your objectifications, I would love to be in one of those vanity mirrors, won’t say who. Guest authors are classy and add a good variety. Overall Anand’s QSM Magazine is 8/10 in this issue.”

    • Anand says:

Dr. Jha! Thanks so much for taking out time and evaluating the magazine. All points on target – and an 8 on 10 made me get up from my seat and strut around the room before settling down to reply. Can’t stop being a Punjabi as I can’t stop being an Indian – khoon hai Punjabi, munde da, hain ji? (the guy is of Punjabi stock, isn’t it?) And Trudeau didn’t dance the Bharatnatyam or I’d have talked about his mudras with equal pleasure! BTW, you are on my hit-list, so get your armor up and weapons ready, Doctor Sa’ab!

Hi Anand, sorry I haven’t been around much, if at all!. Will binge-read and comment once I finished this deadline (means after 5 november). Thanks for visiting and I am looking forward to catch up. I am sure I will enjoy, as always!

Hey Nadya, QSM is there to bust your stress, not to stress you out. Read it when you have the time and you want a few laughs. Don’t start worrying about not reading it – the magazine is out and will wait for you 😀 Work on meeting your deadline. That’s important.

  10. !shita says:

I am not able to access any of the online version for any issues :/

    • Anand says:

Please go to the QSM magazine page. You can then download the previous version’s pdf directly and subscribe to the magazine to ensure that the newest issues (including the second issue) arrive in your mailbox. As it’s all manual, please give me until tomorrow to send the pdf over.

Haha! Punjabis are greatest humorist as if its in their blood. Its all about Lumpak Lampak Singh, my flat faced (nothing racial, he just seems expressionless) manipuri friend. Even Kapil Sharma failed to create a faint smile on him. Probably, I am waiting for a humour which can make Lumpak laugh. Hahaha

    • Anand says:

Bhangra and humor are possibly the only two art-forms that punjabis have some connection with. Dr. Jha, you are quite a humorist yourself – who knows you might be the one to put a smile on Mr. Lumpak Singh’s face.
