This caricature presents Salman Khan as the host of Bigg Boss Season 8, which is scheduled to begin tonight (September 22, 2014) on Colors. The plane in the background is important because that presents the theme of this year’s Bigg Boss.
Salman and Bollywood
Salman started his Bollywood career with the romantic movie “Maine Pyar Kiya” waaayyyy back in 1989 and yet despite a few random successes, he was more or less relegated to average-performance movies, until in 1994, he worked opposite Madhuri Dixit in “Hum Aape Hain Kaun.” (Madhuri is now 47 – and it makes me wonder why Salman Khan keeps calling women Madhuri’s age, “Aunty”?) And yet the movie that reserved his spot as super-star was “Dabangg” in 2010.
Salman and Bigg Boss 8:
I personally think that Salman’s presence as a host is vital for the success of Bigg Boss. Colors had brought in Sanjay Dutt for Bigg Boss 6, and despite all the hand-holding done by Salman Khan, Sanjay Dutt just couldn’t hold it together. Perhaps, Salman’s strength in hosting the show comes from his ability to empathize with the contestants, understand their motives and reactions, and manage them accordingly.
Bigg Boss 8:
Bigg Boss 8 promos show Salman on a plane, in a plane, and everywhere around a plane. The plane has Bigg Boss stamped on it – and a golden strip (of Colors) runs across its body. It’s now almost confirmed that the Bigg Boss house for season 8 has been made in form of a Jumbo Jet. Among those rumored to be the inmates are Puneet Issar (Duryodhan in Mahabharat) and Sunil Grover (He used to be on Kapil’s Comedy Nights show, then he left, then he was on Kapil’s show, now he has left again?? – If you haven’t seen it, click here to view Kapil Sharma’s Caricature.)
For more…let’s wait until tonight and then watch Big Boss. I hope you enjoyed my caricature of Salman Khan above.
